IAE Meeting at Harvard – October 9–10, 2025

The International Academy of Education (IAE) held a meeting on October 9–10, 2025, at Harvard University’s Longfellow Hall in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The two-day program brought together distinguished scholars from around the world for engaging discussions on key issues at the intersection of educational research, policy, and practice.
Highlights included presentations by new Fellows and thought-provoking panels on topics such as comparative education influencing policy and practice and AI in education. A public session with graduate students fostered lively dialogue between emerging and established scholars, while subsequent panels examined the evolving relationship among research, policy, and practice, and the challenges of sustaining public support for education research.
The meeting concluded with productive discussions on potential joint projects, including collaborative publications on Education for the AI Era and Global Perspectives on the Research–Policy–Practice Nexus.
The IAE extends its sincere thanks to the Harvard Graduate School of Education for their generous hospitality, and to Dean Nonie K. Lesaux for her warm welcome. The Boston meeting was both highly productive and collegial, further strengthening the Academy’s international network and shared commitment to advancing educational excellence worldwide.
