Recent Publications of Academy Fellows (April 2018)

Two booklets in the Educational Practices Series have been published.  “Accountable Talk: Instructional dialogue that builds the mind” (#29) was written by Academy Fellow Lauren B. Resnick and two of her colleagues, Christa S. C. Asterhan and Sherice N. Clarke.  “Proportional Reasoning” was written by Wim Van Dooren, Xenia Vamvakoussi, and Lieven Verscheffel, colleagues of Academy Fellow Eric de Corte.  Both booklets can be accessed by clicking on the Educational Practices Series at the top of the Academy’s homepage.

A special issue of Educational Policy Analysis Archives (EPAA) entitled “Historical and Contemporary Perspectives on Educational Evaluation,” edited by Lorin W. Anderson, Maria de Ibarrola, and D. C. Phillips, was published on April 16, 2018.  In addition to articles written by the three editors, articles were contributed by Bill Schubert, Rich Shavelson, Servaas van der Berg, Kadriye Ercikan and her colleagues, Sylvia Schmelkes, and David Berliner.  The introduction to the special issue can be accessed at https://epaa.asu.edu/ojs/article/view/3810.   These articles along with commentaries on each by a Mexican academic or researchers are included in a book recently published in Spanish.
