Teachers' expectations and related self-fulfilling prophecy effects; the dynamics of teacher-student relationships; relationships between classroom processes and student outcomes; managing classrooms and coping with problem students; motivating students to learn; teaching social studies for understanding, appreciation, and life application; scaffolding students' appreciation of the value of school subjects, especially history.
